I designed three carpets (144M2) for dutch art centre Kunst Centrum de Ploeg. The high pile textile carpets soften the auditorium, shop & canteen and the meeting area. Two of these carpets cover the floors from wall to wall, while one is an area rug. Together with a set of posters and animation they are at the base of this museum’s branding identity.
De Ploeg is an artistic movement from their area known for painting au planair. The designs on the carpets come from quick ink drawings I also made in the landscape in a little sketchbook. These where later translated to digital illustrations inspired by the colours and brush strokes De Ploeg are known for. These strokes and colours dance around you while you walk on top of the carpets. Hugging you, or subtly guiding you into a specific direction.
